Reference Modelling
This piece was made by creating an almost perfect circle, then beveling downwards. I then deleted the original disc polygon so that the shape was hollow.
To make this piece of the fans, I beveled a cone down and inwards till it made a point.
This piece is made up of 2 parts. The outside is a disc that was beveled downwards, but the disc piece was removed. It goes inside the fan. The second piece is a disc that was extruded up, and then beveled inwards to make the top look round.
The fan blades are simple boxes, that were made thinner at the inner end, and were slightly rotated to the side. They were then copied and pasted to form a circle of them.
These are panels for the back of the jet pack. They were drawn with the pen tool and then extruded, then I used the bend tool to curve them. I then made a simple box shape to connect the two panels.
This is the exhaust/thruster, at the back of the jet pack. To make it, I beveled a disc up and in. Then I used the magic bevel tool to 'draw' the pipe going into the body of the jet pack.
These are the side panels. I made them by drawing the outline with the pen tool, extruding it, then using the bend tool to curve it around.
This piece is made up of many parts. The 'legs' are made up of discs that were extruded, then magic beveled to make the curve. The stand for the legs is made up of multiple box shapes, with the joint being small and thin boxes that I rotated. The back pieces are two boxes that intersect each other.
These are the handles/controls for the jet pack. The handles were drawn with the pen tool, then slightly rotated so that a person would be able to hold them comfortably. The connectors are discs that were magic beveled.
This is the front of the jet pack. The side pieces are panels that connect the front to the sides, and were made by drawing the shapes with the pen tool and extruded, then bending them slightly to meet the side panels. The middle is a tall, thin box, with the connector for the seat on it. The connector is made up of 3 boxes, with the center box being moved inwards slightly.
